Mike Campbell
DIRECTOR OF HOSPITALITY, IU HOSPITALITY
Mike is a long-tenured hospitality professional who came to Indiana University after managing full-service Hilton-branded hotels in both downtown Indianapolis and Bloomington. He joined IU in 2014 as general manager of the Biddle Hotel in the Indiana Memorial Union, followed by his position as associate director of operations, through which he oversaw IMU facilities, events, and hospitality teams.
Mike was named director of IU Hospitality in 2023 and now oversees the hotel, catering, and retail operations in the IMU. He is the current president of the Monroe County Convention and Visitors Commission and has taught courses on hotel management and sustainable hotel operations in the School of Public Health-Bloomington’s Hospitality and Tourism Program.
Mike is a firm believer in Conrad Hilton’s “service first” philosophy, which aims to anticipate what guests want and provide comfort before they even notice a need. “At IU Hospitality, we focus on delivering great guest service, offering genuine care for our team members, and ensuring a strong financial performance that supports the whole operation, all while actively seeking opportunities for collaboration throughout IU and the community.”
